Facebook fixes webcam vulnerability discovered back in July that allows hackers to turn on users’ webcams without their knowledge and post videos to their profiles. With the negative attention that apps like Snapchat and Poke have received recently for not being as secure with their videos as they claim, it seems safe to say that video privacy will continue to be a hot-button issue in the foreseeable future. Luckily, Facebook, appears to be investigating any and all video privacy issues and has recently squashed the “peeping Tom” bug before it has been able to affect users on Facebook. Basically, this but would allows hackers to turn on users’ webcams, record and post videos to the users’ profiles without their knowledge.
