Foursquare to Use Full Names and Share More Info to Venues

Popular location-based social networking site Foursquare is updating their privacy policy to reveal more data. For those that use Foursquare, the location-based social networking site has recently announced changes to their privacy policy. In an attempt to compete with other sites such as Yelp! Foursquare will begin revealing more user data than before. More specifically the use of “full names” and the ability for businesses to access longer data logs for individuals. The changes to the privacy policy will occur January 28. By the end of January, Foursquare will begin using “full names” when users check-in to locations for all to see. The use of quotation marks is, in important to note as Foursquare does not require the use of users’ real first names.
